This policy explains what the Mini Breaks app collects, what it does not, and who else is involved. It applies to the app and to this website.
Mini Breaks has no accounts. Everything you write is kept on your device. The app and this site send anonymous usage statistics — counts of things that happened, never anything you typed — so we can tell whether they work.
What you are stopping, and everything you write about it, is stored on your device and is not transmitted to us. That includes the thing itself, the situations you named and what you decided to do in each one instead, your daily answers and any notes, any name or personal statement you added, and your reminder settings.
You can delete all of it from Settings inside the app, and deleting the app removes it from your device. The app has no export, so what is on the device is the only copy. Because we never receive it, we cannot recover it for you.
The app reports anonymous usage statistics, so that we can see whether it works and where people get stuck. These describe what happened rather than what you wrote — for example that setup was finished, that a day was answered, that a suggested change was accepted or declined, or that the app was opened. They also include basic technical information such as your device model, operating system version, app version and device language.
Nothing you type can be attached to these statistics. That is a property of how the app is built, not only a promise: there is no path by which your own words reach them, and this is verified by automated tests.
Usage statistics are associated with a random identifier generated on your device, so that repeat use can be counted. It is not linked to your name, your Apple Account, or anything that identifies you elsewhere, and it is replaced if you delete and reinstall the app.
Reminders are scheduled on your device. They are not sent from a server, and no notification identifier is collected. Nothing the app puts on a lock screen names the thing you are stopping.
On devices that support it, the app may use built-in, on-device intelligence to phrase some of its wording around your own answers. This runs on your device. Nothing you wrote is sent to us or to anyone else for this purpose.
Mini Breaks is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through the App Store. Apple handles the purchase; we never see your payment details. The app checks with Apple whether your subscription is currently valid, and stores nothing about it. Apple's handling of your data is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Apple also provides us with aggregate App Store statistics, such as downloads, territories, devices and subscription totals. These are aggregated by Apple and do not identify individual people.
This site sets no cookies and embeds nothing from third parties. It counts two things — that a page was opened, and that the App Store link was tapped — through the same analytics provider as the app, and on the same terms: no IP address, no location, and no advertising. Each count records which of our pages it came from, whether the browser is a phone, a tablet or a computer, and the name of the site you followed a link from, if you did. It never records the address you arrived at in full, so nothing you searched for or clicked to get here reaches us.
Those counts are grouped by a random identifier that is created when you arrive and discarded when you close the tab. Nothing is stored on your device between visits, nothing identifies you, and there is no way to tell that two visits were the same person. If your browser sends a “do not track” or global privacy control signal, the site counts nothing at all.
Our hosting provider processes standard server request logs, including IP addresses, in order to serve and protect the site.
We use a small number of third parties to run the service — an app store and payment processor, an analytics provider, and a hosting provider. They process data only on our instructions and for the purposes described here. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. We may disclose information if we are required to by law.
Data on your device is kept until you delete it or remove the app. Usage statistics are retained for as long as they are useful for understanding how the app is used, and deleted when they are not.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete personal data we hold, or to object to its processing. Almost everything Mini Breaks holds about you is already on your own device, where you can read it in the app and delete it yourself from Settings. We never receive it, so there is nothing on our side for us to send you or correct. For the usage statistics, and for anything else, write to contact@minibreaks.app and we will respond within 30 days.
Mini Breaks is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where they do, they do so under the safeguards described in their own privacy policies.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top. Material changes will be noted in the app.
